Looking for something to pass the time? How about a new doodle tutorial? Today I want to show you just how easy it is to draw a cartoon UFO doodle. Because you just don't know when you might need a cartoon UFO doodle. Supplies You Need:
Optional: a clipboard or hardcover book to support your paper, a ruler for the straight lines, and coloring supplies of choice. (Really, it looks good without color too.) Ready? Read on for the photos and steps: Step 1. Draw a Half Circle However big you make this half-circle is how big the "bubble" of your UFO will be. That's totally up to you. TIP: Use your pencil for making your base drawing, and use the lightest lines possible. This makes it easier to erase mistakes, change up details, and remove the pencil sketch after you've inked in your drawing. Step 2: Draw a slightly curved line to create the bottom for the windshield/bubble thing. Step 3. I'm not sure what this is, but I guess it is important. It makes the "saucer" part of the UFO. Just draw a curved line like a smiley face under the bottom of the bubble. Step 4. Give your ship a bottom. Step 5: Reflection Give your bubble a bit of a shine with some rounded shapes. Step 6: Draw a curved line at the back of the bubble. (Where the arrow is pointing). You can leave this off if you want. Step 7. Draw some short straight lines for the landing legs, and some long straight lines for the beam of light. You can use a ruler here if long straight lines make you nervous. Step 8: Add a curved line at the bottom of the light beam. Step 9: And another curved beam facing the other way. Now you have a nice cone of light shining down. Step 10: Let's Ink It! When the pencil drawing looks the way you want it to look, carefully go over your lines with an ink pen. Give the ink a couple of seconds to dry, then erase any pencil lines that are showing for a nice, clean doodle. Note that I left the one line gray so that it looks like it is behind the glass. Also, you can add more details here like the "feet" and the lights on the ship. Here's what it looks like all cleaned up, with a solid dome instead of a clear bubble windshield. So, do you want to color it in, or not? You can use whatever coloring mediums you prefer. I did this one digitally so it would show up better. Now You Can Draw a UFO
There! Now you can draw a UFO. You add more details, stick an alien inside, or add something funny in the light beam.
