It has been a crazy couple of years for art and...well everything else. For various reasons, I didn't even have time to think about doing the Inktober art challenge last year or year before last. Its a busy time of year even without a daily drawing, but I always love the community atmosphere of joining in. Meeting new artists, and discovering great works is a huge part of the appeal.
This year, I decided to try something different, and take on the Inktober 52 challenge instead. Rather than drawing each day in October,
its a drawing once a week for the whole year. That sounds a lot easier to keep up with and allows time to work on other art as well.
I also chose to do this all in one sketchbook rather than loose paper or cards. I'm off to a late start because I had to wait for the sketchbook to come in, but here we go. Week one, the prompt was "Wild". I went with a sort of bizarre garden/living statue idea. Wild being both the state of the garden and the weirdness of stuff going on. There are snails, eyes, centipedes, a unicorn bird, fish, and a lighthouse in a bird bath, as well as flowers and a slightly worried statue. Below are the supplies I used. *Note: links are affiliate links and I may earn a commission if you purchase through my links. *
