So what ideas have you had recently that seemed like easy ideas before you started them? For me, it was this latest full size drawing. And by full size I mean ginormous. For me. I usually work on paper that is 9x12 or smaller. This piece is 18x24, because I have a pad of 18x24 drawing paper that really needs to be used. The original plan was to just make a simple "woman in nature" sort of drawing, which has been sort of a theme for me this year. In my head it was just going to be basic line art with some filler doodles. And what can I say? It got a little out of hand. I also thought it would only take a "few days". It took about three weeks. Here it is though. All finished and looking very leafy. Click the read more link to see the progress shots from sketch to finish, and some closeups for details! OH! And look for hidden images. A few things nestled in Nature's embrace include owls, a snake, snails, birds, bees, fish, fairies, toadstools and a stag. And that's just a few!
Some close-ups of the details. The tools I used were a No. 2 pencil, two black ink pens and a firetruck eraser I 'borrowed' from my kids art box.
