In today's tutorial, I'm going to walk you through some easy, fun steps for drawing a rainy cloud. When I first planned this tutorial, it was designed to be a tracker for a bullet journal, where a rain drop could be colored whenever a goal was met. However, its also just a cute doodle that can be drawn anywhere. It can be a full page drawing with many clouds and rain drops, or just a scribble in the margin of a notebook to kill time. Supplies You Need:
Step 1. Start with this a line like this. Three half-circles for the bottom of the cloud. (By the way, I use dark pencil lines here so they will show up in the photos better. Its best to draw with light pencil lines to make them easier to erase later on. ) Step 2. Three more half circles make the top of the cloud. Of course it can be puffier if you want, or even a different shape. Step 3. Start adding the rain drops. Make them slightly different sizes for interesting variety. You can see in the pic below I also fancied up my cloud a bit with some swirls. Step 4. Keep drawing raindrops until you have as many as you want. If you are using them as goal trackers for a journal then draw as many as needed for your theme. For example, you could color one rain drop for every day you remember to take your vitamin or read a book. Step 5. Start drawing some faces, arms and legs on your rain drops. This is optional of course, but don't they look more interesting this way? I added a face to the cloud too, and you can see that in a pic farther down. The faces are simply two dots and a half circle smile for the droplets. Of course you can make them have different expressions if you want. the arms and legs are just 'stick figure' lines. Once all you've drawn all your droplets in, its time to ink! Step 6. Carefully draw over your pencil lines. This is a good time to add or take away details. Only ink over lines you want to keep. When the ink is dry enough that it won't smudge, gently erase the remaining pencil marks. If you want to leave it empty to color as a goal tracker, then you are done! Otherwise, you can color it in right now to be a finished doodle. Step 7. Color your doodle in!
